EDSE: Eritrean Deaf Society in Europe

Founded in Geneva on June 30, 2010, the Eritrean Deaf Society in Europe (EDSE), formerly known as the Eritrean National Association of the Deaf in Europe (ENADE) began as a neutral, non-profit organization representing the Eritrean deaf community across Europe. At its second conference in 2013, members renamed the organization to EDSE, and in 2021, after several discussions, EDSE relocated to Leksand, Sweden, for its strategic location in Scandinavia and the EU.

EDSE advocates for equal access, integration, and the use of sign language in public spaces and workplaces, empowering Eritrean deaf individuals in Europe. The society provides sign language interpretation services, ensuring clear communication with families, access to information, and technical support.
