Eritrean Deaf Society in Europe (EDSE)

The Eritrean National Association of Deaf in Europe (ENADE) was established in 2010, with strong support from the Swiss Deaf community. Initially, the ENADE Office was part of the Geneva Association of the Deaf. ENADE has always emphasized the importance of preserving the cultural, traditional, and community diversity or Deaf Individuals, rostering a space where beat people can connect and grow together. Among its members. many Deaf Eritreans living in Switzerland share a profound appreciation for community life, deeply rooted in mutual respect and shared experiences.

Over 50 Deaf Swiss individuals have voluntarily joined ENADE as members, offering their unwavering support to the organization. We are incredibly grateful for their dedication, and their solidarity continues to strengthen our community. Their involvement has been instrumental in helping ENADE grow and therive over the years.

In a significant milestone. ENADE was rebranded as the Eritrean Deaf Society in Europe (EDSE). Along with this rebranding, the EDSE headquarters moved from Switzerland, to Sweden, where it remains to this day. This move has allowed the organization to continue expanding its reach while maintaining its core mission of supporting and connecting Deaf Eritreans across Europe.

EDSE remains committed to fostering a strong sense of community among Deaf Eritreans, preserving cultural heritage, and ensuring that the voices of Deaf individuals are heard and respected on an international stage.
