CULTURE EVENT

The Eritrean Festival is a vibrant celebration of cultural and social events that unite people in the enjoyment of diverse artistic expressions. Through annual festivities, the event fosters community unity, diversity, and joy, featuring dances, music, food, traditions, lectures, and performances in all nine languages of Eritrea. Deaf participants have also engaged actively in the Eritrean Festival in Sweden, utilizing sign language and recently organizing a rally to sell jewelry, traditional T-shirts, and other items. This showcases the effective engagement of deaf individuals with the hearing community.

Additionally, the festival serves as a valuable opportunity to teach deaf parents and children growing up in Europe how to learn and preserve their native language and culture. We aim to enhance hearing individuals' sensitivity to learning sign language, while also empowering deaf individuals to better understand and communicate within various festival contexts. This initiative celebrates individuality and promotes intercultural understanding between the deaf community and the broader European society
